Unsympathetic mother

Nalini (35), who was born in a town in the state and passed her dental examination in her hometown, got married to a man named Shankar from the same town. Shankar, a software engineer, rented a two-bedroom flat after marriage. Nalini spent the first two months in her husband's house in furnishing the house. She then applied for jobs in several dental colleges to work. As she did not have a master's degree, she could not get a job anywhere. Later Nalini decided to open her dental clinic. On her husband's assurance, she took a loan from the bank and bought the necessary equipment for the clinic. She rented a place near the house and opened a clinic. Initially, the number of customers visiting the clinic was not high, but she was confident that her business would grow over time. Meanwhile, she got pregnant. When she was 6 months pregnant, her parents took her to their home for the rituals. So Nalini’s Clinic was temporarily closed.

Two months later, Nalini became the mother of a baby girl. Soon after birth, doctors noticed that her baby had a birth-related problem. The baby's blood was sent to the laboratory. When the report came from there, the doctor addressed Nalini and Shankar, 'Your daughter has developmental problems. She has a speech delay and will be a couple of years behind others in learning. You will have to enroll her in a special school. The treatment of this child is long and costly. Be prepared for this' the doctor said. It was the first child born to them that left Nalini and Shankar in a state of mental shock. They didn't know what to do next. After some time, Shankar calmed down and told his wife that 'we both have to raise our daughter well' and named the child Sushma. After completing a year, Nalini appointed a nanny to look after her child and restarted the clinic. As the clinic was closed for a long time,  patients were not coming everyday. Although there was no income from the clinic, Nalini had to pay the bank EMI. Thus the financial burden on the couple increased.

By the time Sushma turned four, Nalini had come to believe that her daughter's birth star was bad and her career had suffered. Consult several astrologers. An astrologer also said, 'This girl's birth star is bad, she and your family are in trouble' and suggested various solutions. Accordingly, Nalini went to several temples and performed pooja. However, there was no change in her condition. Then Nalini started feeling disrespect for Sushma. Reasoning that her life would be better if she did something and sent her daughter out of the house, she started looking for hostels. Shankar is very fond of his daughter and he strictly told Nalini that Sushma should not be away from him for any reason.  For the next several days there were arguments between the husband and wife over this issue. Nalini sought her parents' advice, they also supported Shankar's words.

Meanwhile, Shankar had to go abroad for ten days on office work. Then a bad thought flashed in Nalini's head. Nalini told the nanny that one day she would take Sushma to her mother's house, go to the railway station with her daughter and get a ticket to a nearby town. After an hour's journey, she got down with her daughter at the station. When the train was leaving, Nalini left Sushma on the platform and boarded the train alone. Seeing this, the two passengers quickly ran and picked up Sushma and they also boarded the train and came to Nalini and handed over the girl to her. Thus her plan was ruined. As her plan failed  She came back home.

She made several plans for what to do next. One day she got fed up and decided to kill her daughter. She went to the balcony of the fourth-floor house where she lived. She went to dry the clothes on the balcony wall. Then she made Sushma sit on the same barrier. She looked to see if anyone was walking around and on the road below. Since it was noon, no one was there. Talking to Sushma, she suddenly pushed her down. As soon as Sushma fell, Nalini cried loudly, 'Oh, my daughter accidentally slipped and fell. What is the point of my life without her? She also pretended to jump down from the balcony saying, 'I will commit suicide'. Meanwhile, half a minute after Sushma fell, a doctor who lived in the same apartment was returning home in a car. He saw the girl fall down and rushed to her. She was hit on the head and was bleeding. Doctors administered first aid to the girl and immediately admitted her to a nearby hospital. Sushma died there after two days of fighting between life and death. Shankar was shocked and depressed.

On the report of the doctor, the police reached the hospital, registered a case of unnatural death and started an investigation. At that time, Shankar suspected his wife of Sushma's death. The investigator reviewed footage from CCTV cameras in the apartment block to find out how Sushma fell down. It was clearly seen that Nalini had made Sushma sit on the wall of the balcony and pushed her down after a few minutes. When the police questioned Nalini, she told the truth. The police took her to a psychiatrist to check her for any mental disorder. Doctors gave her a report that she had no mental illness. The police filed a charge sheet against Nalini in the court on the charge of killing Sushma. After the trial, she was sentenced to 10 years in prison.(1)

Life is an unexpected journey where we are not able to find what kind of turnings we will face the next moment.  Be calm at bad times and overcome issues.
