Nefarious Scam Behind The Closeness

        42-year-old Chaudhary was a wealthy merchant in a big city, living a happy life with a wife and two children. Once he went to a casino in Goa with his friends to have fun. There he met a 35-year-old man named Anil. Anil, who claimed to be the owner of a jewellery shop in Mumbai, taught Chaudhary how to play various types of gambling. As a result, Chowdhury also got some money won. Both shared their cellphone numbers. After returning from Goa, Anil used to contact Chaudhary by phone from time to time, telling him to meet him when he came to Mumbai. One day Chowdhury went to Mumbai on some work and stayed in a five-star hotel. He called Anil and informed that he has come to Mumbai. Anil says I will come to your hotel in an hour. At 8 o'clock Anil came to the lobby of the hotel and called Chaudhary's room. He said that he had two girlfriends with him and that he would introduce them.

         All three of you come to my room, Chaudhary said. Anil came there and introduced the two women who were with him as Sapna and Monika. Sapna is a fashion designer and Monica is a television serial director. Anil had brought a bottle of whiskey with him and asked everyone to drink. Everyone started drinking. After one drink, Anil gets a telephone call, Anil replied that he had some urgent work and left the room saying that he would be back in another hour and a half. Chaudhary, Sapna and Monika continued drinking. Ten minutes later, Sapna said she forgot something in her car and went outside to get it. After she left, Monica went to the toilet in the room saying that she would go to the washroom. She did not come out for a long time. Meanwhile Sapna returned to the room and rang the bell. Immediately after entering, where is Monica? she asked. Monika comes out of the bathroom as Chaudhary says she has gone to the bathroom before completing his words Monika comes out of bathroom completely naked. There was blood on her legs and thighs. Monica started crying loudly as soon as she saw Sapna, as soon as you went out Chaudhary took off my clothes and raped me, She said.

        In an instant, Sapna aimed the mobile phone in her hand at her and started recording the video of what she was saying. Showing her bloodied thighs and legs to the camera, Monica approached Chowdhury, who was standing in shock, and hugged him. Sapna also shot its photo and video. At the same time, Anil, who had gone out, returned to the room. As soon as he arrived, they complained that Chaudhary had raped Monika. Anil expressed panic on his face, this is it my friend, why did you do this? Was it too much to drink? Said. I didn't even touch her. When Chaudhary says that she is lying, then why is Monica still naked? Is that blood on her body? Anil questioned. Sapna instantly took her mobile showed Anil the video she had taken on her mobile phone as an answer to the question. This is a very serious case, Monika is in TV serials and she is familiar with the police officers, Mumbai. If she makes a phone call, the police will come and arrest you right away. Since this is a different town, no one will come to bail you, will have to stay in the jail of this town for seven years, what kind of work have you done my friend? said Anil. Chaudhary was sweating. He didn't know what to do next. 

        Chaudhary was sitting on the couch holding hands. Anil sat next to him and asked Monica who was in the room to quickly put on her clothes and go to the lobby of the hotel with Sapna and wait for him. After they left, Anil said to Chaudhary, friend, since you are my close friend, I will devise something and warn Monika not to file a complaint against you. But she, the victim, asks for compensation. Moreover, since Sapna videotaped the incident, she can also ask for money not to publicize it. If you are ready to pay the money they asked, I will finish everything here, he said. When Chaudhary asked how much money to pay, he said that he would talk to both of them and left the room. After ten minutes, Anil returned to the room and said that everything will be resolved if you give me three crore rupees. Monica is in a popular profession. She is adamant about filing a complaint with the police, I struggled a lot and told her to be patient. Besides, if Sapna is not paid, she will no doubt share the video and photos on social media and send them to your family. Think about it. Chowdhury, who was originally a businessman, negotiated the payment and said that he bought Rs 75 lakhs and transferred ten lakhs as a advance from his account to Monika's account on the spot. Anil then left. Chowdhury returned to his place in the next morning's fight. Then the remaining Rs 65 lakh was transferred to Monika's account.

        Anil called Chaudhary after a month and asked him to send more money. Again Chaudhary paid Rs 10 lakh through a check in his name, Anil, who was not satisfied with this, as soon as he came to Chaudhary's town, threatened to advertise the video if he did not pay 50 lakhs to him, then after a week Chaudhary gave him the gold chain and 10 lakhs in cash, Monica called Chaudhary and immediately gave him 25 lakhs. Chaudhary's patience broke when he was asked to send it. Without showing it, he told her that he was coming to Mumbai in two days and would pay the money there. The very next day Chaudhary went to Mumbai, went to the police station there and lodged a complaint complaining that Anil and others were blackmailing him. Police told Chaudhary to call Anil, Sapna and Monika to same Panchatara hotel to give money. He did as police said

        That same evening, Anil came to Chaudhary's room with Sapna. Then the police who were hiding in the room arrested both of them and confiscated their mobile phones. Sapna's mobile phone had photos and videos of Chaudhary, both of them confessed to the police and said that they had planned for several days to extort money from Chaudhary. Monica said that she had gone to Nepal. When she was arrested and questioned by the police after her return, she took a bottle of chicken blood to complain that Chaudhary had raped her. She said that while she was busy in the bathroom, she smeared the same blood on her body. Further investigation revealed that these three had blackmailed several people in the same manner. 15 lakh of money received from Chaudhary was recovered from them. The investigation was completed quickly and the chargesheet was submitted to the court, which sentenced the three of them to rigorous imprisonment of five years each.(1)

        Honey trap is not a new issue, it has been followed by many years in many areas. Before doing these kind of things they study well about a person’s activities, interest and assets and then they plan to trap. In honey trap scam woman plays an important role, they play a victim role. It involves setting up a situation in which an individual is provoked into a relationship or sexual encounter, and then compromising them by using the information gained during the encounter to blackmail or extort them. As we seen in the above case, Chaudhary was innocent here, his mistake was he trusted Anil. Chaudhary didn’t even touch Monika.  But he could have lost money if he has not gone to police station for a help. Before believing any person be cautious. Now-a-days people are ready to cheat in many ways to gain money. If Chaudhary had not taken the help of police he could have lost more than 3 crores. Be careful when you are trapped, without 2nd thought, approach police and help police too, to stop these kind of crimes in the society.
