Satish was working as an artist in an advertising company in a big city. At the age of 40, he divorced his wife and lived alone in a huge multi-storey apartment. He had not rented the apartment in his name but was living in the name of someone else who had rented it. A 36 year old woman, named Meera was working as a copywriter in Satish's advertising company. Meera, who was from Uttar Pradesh, was married off as a child and her husband had died several years ago. As no one in her town was ready to remarry Meera, she left her town and came to the metropolis in search of work. Her widowed mother was alone in her house. Meera was living in a PG.
Over time, Satish and Meera began to fall in love with each other. When both of them were thinking of getting married, Satish said, 'We should not get married right away as your and mine's previous marriages have already ended in misery. Let's live together for a couple of years and get married, if we are compatible,' Meera agreed. After a few days, Meera brought all her belongings from the PG to Satish's flat and started living there with him. In course of time, sexual contact also took place between the two. They both were careful not to have children. After a year of cohabitation, Satish no longer wants Meera. Then he fell in love with a 25-year-old girl named Lena, who had just joined his advertising company. Meera noticed that Satish was making out with the unmarried young woman in the office and Meera took issue with this. 'Why do you want someone else's company when we both decided to get married after a year and are cohabiting?' She pressed him. Satish gave her a flying reply. However, he secretly started meeting Lena in different places.
Meanwhile, one day Satish went to another town for some work. At that time when Meera went to search for something in the room she found a file containing Satish's old papers. She looked curiously. It was a file related to the divorce of Satish's first marriage. In that notice, Satish's wife sought divorce on the grounds that she had lost trust in him because he stole and hid her jewels. As soon as Meera gets this information, she decides to use it to stop Satish from going away from her. What happened to the jewels hidden by your first wife, ask’s Meera after Satish returned from the village? Shocked by this question, Satish did not give her any answer. Satish, who thought that his life would become impossible if he continued cohabitation with Meera because she knew his secret, soon after waking up the next day he said Meera, "If both of us do not get along with each other as per our agreement, we can separate ways. Neither of us are compatible with each other. So you leave my house and go somewhere else, I want to be alone.' But Meera did not agree to his words. “I know why you are talking like this because you are in love with someone else in the office. She threatened him that she will reveal his secret to Leena and advertise that you are a fraud everywhere. She was adamant that she would not leave his house no matter what. Due to this, there was a fight between them every day.
One night, their fight turned into disaster. In a fit of anger, Satish squeezed Meera's neck so hard that Meera collapsed and died on the spot. Satish kept her dead body in the room when he didn’t know what to do next. He spent the whole night thinking about the disposal of her dead body. Then he remembered a case he had read in a newspaper. It was remembered that a man had cut the body of his mistress into pieces and thrown the pieces in several places. Satish decided to do the same. Next day he went to office as usual. When colleagues inquired about Meera's whereabouts, he said that Meera had gone to her hometown because her mother was serious. That evening he went to the market and bought an electric saw. He had decided to cut Meera's body through it. However, when he used a saw in the apartment, he thought that the neighbors would be suspicious because of its sound, so he also bought some firewood sheets. The next day he took off leave and Meera's body was cut into 32 pieces.
Meanwhile, the house started smelling bad as the body had reached the stage of decomposition. So, he sprayed the whole house with deodorant. He kept the pieces of the corpse in his refrigerator so that they would not rot further. Despite taking all these precautions, the bad smell that permeated the house did not go away. Then Satish reasoned that if the pieces of the corpse were cooked, the smell would go away, so he bought a big cooker. In it the pieces of the corpse were cooked for the whole night. He could not cook all the pieces. He put the uncooked pieces back in the fridge, put the burnt pieces in a plastic bag and went to the park outside his apartment to feed them to stray dogs. Several people visiting the park witnessed the scene but did not raise any suspicions. Satish could not cook the leftover pieces of meat the next day. As a result, the bad smell coming from his house became unbearable, his neighbor complained to the police, when the police came, Satish was still at home. When asked the reason for the bad smell coming from the house, he tried to run away from the police. Then when he was caught and interrogated, the act came to light
An entire amputated leg was found under one of the couches in his plot. Some other body parts were found in his fridge. A bloody electric saw was found in a corner. When he was interrogated, he spoke bluntly about what had happened. Satish was arrested on charges of Meera's murder and destruction of evidence. He told the police that he was inspired to do this after watching an English film. The challenge before the police was that Meera had been murdered by Satish and her body Proving that the pieces were cut and thrown away. The police resorted to DNA technology to prove that the leg found in the house was that of the deceased. For this reason, police went to Meera's mother's house in Uttar Pradesh. She said that Meera calls her once a week and she has not answered her phone for the last two weeks. The police obtained Meera mother blood sample and compared it with the DNA sample of the deceased's leg. A laboratory test confirmed the deceased as Meera. Satish kept the deceased's phone in his bank locker. It was sealed. A charge sheet has been filed against Satish after the investigation. As there is no eye witness in this case, the crime has to be proved by circumstantial evidence. Satish is in judicial custody. He has no remorse for killing Meera.(1)
The way murder has been carried out makes it a heinous crime. These kind of murder makes fear among people. Live in relation is a extremely common now a days. It is a cohabitation where two romantically involved and decide to love together without marriage. Once they start living in relationship, both will get to know more things about each other, this make them to depend psychologically. If partner is manipulative if she or he will hurt them emotionally and try to trap in relationship. Merely you will be having some kind of trust, attachment and love towards live-in-partner, you might think of giving relationship chance. In relationship normally people tend to neglect the negative part of partner, which make them to fall for prey. When you think your partner is cheating on you or if your relationship is toxic then both should discuss and get apart. We humans are different from each other, we all have different opinion in everything. And its human nature to change his/her behaviour, when we get to know that our thoughts have been changed can’t work on it, then both should speak and should try to solve it, even if it doesn’t work its better to break the relationship, instead of falling prey to the relationship. As seen in the above case when Meera got to know that his live in partner Satish is not interested in relationship, instead of keeping him stay forcefully in relationship, she could have left him. If she had left him at least she could have alive today as a daughter to her aged mother. Forceful relationship never gives fruitful result.
